Refer a Friend Promotion

How much do you enjoy your treatments?

Many of you recognise the benefits of coming regularly for Reiki or reflexology treatments, but how do you fancy just paying half price?

All I ask is that you ‘refer a friend’ ie recommend me to someone you know.  When you enjoy something as much as your relaxing treatment, it seems a kindness to share it with your friends.  And how about family or colleagues, parents from the school gate or a friend on Facebook.  Don’t worry if your friends aren’t local, Distance Reiki can be done wherever they live – I am currently working effectively with people who live 80 miles from where I am.  Find out more about Distance Reiki here.

We all come into contact with people who are stressed or need some time out, so please let them know how your Reiki or reflexology session helps you.  This year has been difficult for all of us in one way, shape or form.  It has brought out emotions in us that we didn’t expect and has challenged our coping mechanisms.  This in turn has upset our usual balance and equilibrium and made us look at things differently.  This is of course, not always a bad thing but it takes a little getting used to and sometimes we need some support.  The treatments I offer not only relax the body, but can also ease the mind and soothe the emotions.

So how does the refer a friend reward work?

  • Firstly pass my details on to your friend
  • Then ask them to contact me to book an appointment
  • When your friend has had their appointment* you can claim your half price treatment
  • You can repeat as many times as you like
A few Ts & Cs….
  • Your friend must have booked, attended and paid for their treatment before your discount can be applied.
  • Discounted treatments cannot be used on the loyalty card.
  • You can refer friends and claim your discount as many times as you like.
  • The friend must not be an existing client of mine.
  • *If your friend books a 30 minute Distance Reiki treatment they must have two treatments before you can claim your discount.
  • The cancellation policy applies to all appointments and will be charged at the stated rates and not at the discounted rate.

COVID-19 Risk Assessment and Commitment

Following the announcement by the Government on Thursday 9th July, We are delighted that Medulla Holistic Therapies can start seeing clients face to face again for hands on treatments.COVID-19 risk assessment - staying covid secure  This COVID-19 Risk Assessment shows my commitment to keeping my clients and myself and family safe.

Obviously keeping you and us safe is of paramount importance and so there will be some changes to the way appointments and treatments are carried out.  This will include reduced chat time and increased PPE as well as a health questionnaire before each and every appointment.  I will ask you to not attend your appointment if you or any of your household have any of the COVID-19 symptoms, to wear your own face covering and put it on before entering the house and to take care not to touch anything before you enter the treatment room as a way of protecting us all.

Please read the Risk Assessment and Commitment below that I undertake to protect you and then please also read the new client protocol which advises what you and we should do to prevent the virus from spreading.

I have taken my guidance from the UK Reiki Federation as well as the Government’s website www.gov.uk

If you have any questions regarding my statements or changes to your treatment then please do contact me here.

I have removed the rugs, soft furnishings and many decorative items to ensure all surfaces in the treatment room are easy to clean and sanitise.
I will only be using the treatment couch (without the fabric cover) as it is easier to sanitise before and after each client. The small stool will also be included in this process.
The pillow coverings, blankets, flannels and towels will be changed and washed after each client.
I will wear a face covering, a visor and a disposable apron for all treatments.  I will wear gloves for Reiki but not reflexology.
I will wash my hands immediately before and after each treatment without touching anything between the sink and the treatment room and drying my hands on paper towel.
I have to keep your records and agree to share a few details with NHS Track and Trace if they contact me if one of my other clients develops symptoms.
I have a responsibility to inform the local health authority if you tell me that you develop symptoms within seven days of visiting my treatment room.
On the morning of each treatment I will text you a health questionnaire at around 8am, please copy and paste it into your reply with you answers.  I will not be able to see you if you have not done this.

Journeys, Reiki

Have you tried Distance Reiki Yet?

The wonderful thing about Distance Reiki is you can wear your comfiest clothes (or pyjamas) and sit or lie on your own bed, sofa or yoga mat.  You can have your treatment without having to leave the comfort or safety of your own home.  And if you’re feeling a little drowsy afterwards, you don’t even have to drive home.

Distance Reiki has always been taught in the second degree of Reiki and is something we practice during our training, potentially on a few friends and then maybe put to one side just bringing it out occasionally; I know this is what happened for me.  It can be used across the room to someone who doesn’t want to be touched or to animals across a field, when passing an ambulance or sent to those experiencing hardships on the other side of the world.

Reiki is the Universal Life Force energy

It is the energy that runs invisibly through our bodies and keeps our mind and body in balance, it makes trees and plants grow and flourish and it is also in the air around us.  It can pass through skin and bones, through clothes and blankets and also through bricks and mortar.  And if it can travel through these solid things then why not through space and distance too.  In fact, it can.

All it takes, as with any Reiki treatment, is the intention and dedication of the practitioner and the open-mindedness of the recipient.  These will allow the Reiki to flow to the desired destination, but it is the experience of the Reiki practitioner that will be used to make the emotional connection and uncover the way the body wants to work.

It is obviously a very different experience from the one you would receive in my treatment room.

In the treatment room I will have energetically cleansed the space, have a nice oil blend in the diffuser, I play soft music (which doesn’t come across well over the video call) and will try to ensure we are not disturbed.  I can also give you a bit of space to ‘come round’ after your treatment whilst I go and get you a soothing drink and a glass of water.

However an experience like this isn’t possible at the moment as the nation enters another week of lockdown, in an attempt to manage the spread of Covid-19 in the UK.  It goes without saying that following the Government’s guidelines and staying at home is the right thing to do, however at this time more than ever, you might be in need of a little holistic treatment.  Maybe you had previously come to me for regular Reiki or even reflexology treatments and are missing the positive impact it has on your mind and body.  Or actually you might just be in need of something to help ease the emotional tension you find is building up as you come to terms with this new way of life.

There are many other reasons why you might be in need of a Reiki ‘top-up’ (as many of my regular clients call their treatments)

  • You might be front line staff in the NHS or care professions facing the true horrors of this disease on a daily basis
  • Your work might see you on the front line of trying to get supplies to the nation – in supermarkets or delivery drivers – but with new restrictions and protections that make your job more difficult
  • You might be trying to cope with working from home, home-schooling your children and caring for the elderly or vulnerable
  • You might be grieving, sick or worried about someone who is
  • You might just need some respite from whatever your situation is.  This is a challenging time for all of us in our own lives

Allow Reiki to ease a little light into your body and mind.

It can feel like slipping into a hot bath at the end of a tiring day or as refreshing as stepping from a cool shower on a hot, dusty day.  It can be like balm poured onto dry, itchy skin or an all-enveloping hug from gentle, invisible arms.  You can feel this in the mind as well as in the body.  And it works just as well by distance (some are saying even better!).

So, how does a Distance Reiki session work?

  • I call you by video call (Whatsapp, Facetime, Messenger etc)
  • We have a 5-10 minute consultation
  • You make yourself comfortable on your bed, sofa etc
  • I talk you into a relaxed state and make my connection to the Reiki energy
  • I use a substitute for your body (usually my upper leg!) and work down the body and chakras as I would with a hands-on treatment
  • At the end I talk you back to the present moment
  • We finish by talking over what we experienced.

If you’ve had a Reiki treatment before, you may wonder how the connection can happen and whether you get the same warm relaxation.  I can assure you it does happen.  All those who have experienced Distance Reiki with me have felt a sense of peace at the end of the treatment.  They talk about a feeling of calm that seems to stay with them longer as they don’t have to drive home afterwards.  We often experience heat in the same areas and we are still able to discover and work through emotional issues, just as before.

Retro Styled Image Of A Hidden Sign For A Spiritual RetreatIt is still a wonderful way to explore what’s going on for us and learn how to connect up body, mind and emotions.  On top of that it’s super relaxing and peaceful, just the anti-dote to the stresses caused by Coronavirus and the lockdown situation put in place to protect us.

If this is what you need in your life at this time then please contact me to book an appointment or even just to find out more.

Reflexology, Reiki

Treatments are changing temporarily.

As we try to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, I like many other have taken the decision to cease hands-on treatments for the time being.  I am following government guidelines and will look forward to resuming normal service when it is deemed safe to do so.

Long time coming

However I am introducing some things that have been at the back of my mind for a long time, and now seems like a prudent time to bring out into the daylight.  As a Holistic Therapist, working with the whole person, I feel I must find ways to share the energy work I do with you and offer relief and release from the confusion, uncertainty and possible distress of the current situation.  Please feel free to share this email with friends, family, work colleagues or people in your community who would benefit from the contact and energy.

Meditation Group

As many of you will remember I used to run regular meditation groups in Thurleigh and Northampton but as people’s lives have become busier they became less and less able to commit to regular sessions.  I have often considered creating a way of doing this online and the current situation has really made look into the logistics of this.  It is more important than ever for people to be able to access the beautiful power of meditation and the ability, with practice, that it has for helping us deal with difficult or stressful situations.

So I am delighted to launch my new meditation group – Medulla Meditation Group (there is a Facebook group of this name too) where you will be able to find details of the live sessions I will be holding on Zoom.  Don’t worry if you’ve never used Zoom before, I will post a link up on the events page of this website and also on the Facebook group and you can just click it or copy and paste into your browser.  There is an app that you can download but if you prefer not to then you can use it straight from the web page.  As usual, if you have any questions or queries then please get in touch.

From next week I will run two half-hour sessions a week – on a Monday lunchtime and a Thursday evening, unfortunately I will not be able to provide tea and cake as I did with my previous, but perhaps you can have your own ready and we can still share the same vibe and conversations we used to have around the table, after our online practice.

This week (w/c 23rd March) I have been offering the groups for free whilst trialing software to run the live sessions on but after that will ask for an exchange of £5 per session (if however you are also self-employed or have lost your job or income especially in recent days then please do let me know, as I don’t want anyone to miss out, particularly when you need it the most).

I will publicise them as events on the Events page here on my website and also on my Facebook Page Medulla Holistic Therapies, so if you do not already follow me, please do so and to help me spread the word.  Please would you be kind enough to share the events on your timelines, to friends, on groups or pages?  I truly believe that these sessions will be beneficial to all but particularly to those who are self-isolating or are struggling with limited social contact.  You may well be aware of people in this situation in your village or workplace who are not aware of me and what I do, so please share the details to as many people as you can.

Distance Reiki

With more of us going into self-isolation; a calming, healing energy therapy is a wonderful way to ease the strain and loneliness as well as help us deal with the emotional aspects of our current situation.

Thankfully, Reiki does not only have to be done in the hands-on manner; as an energy, it can easily be sent across any distance.  From one side of the room to the other or across countries and continents, the effects of distance Reiki can be as relaxing and healing as when you’re having warm hands laid upon you.

No, it’s not the same as going to a beautiful treatment room, with lovely music and aromatherpay oils for a face to face treatment, but it can still be very soothing and equally effective.

Distance Reiki is like a concentrated version so sessions do not need to be as long and so I am now offering a 30 minutes session for an exchange of £20.

We would make an appointment and I would ask you to make yourself comfortable for that time either sitting or lying down and not to be disturbed.  We can connect by phone, facetime, Whatsapp video or some equivalent to do the consultation part, then keep the connection whilst you get comfortable and relax and I send the Reiki to you.  I will talk you into a relaxed state as I always do and afterwards we will review your experience, just like in the treatment room.
