What is Your Medulla?
Your Medulla was born out of my love of beautiful, natural scents and my desire to heal.
After working and training with Neal’s Yard Remedies and using their gorgeous natural products, I found I wanted to know more about the essential oils that gave them their very distinctive aromas. I wanted to understand the therapeutic properties behind each of them and how they work on the body. At first this was to help my Neal’s Yard clients to find the most appropriate product for them but during my studies it soon became apparent how much the individual oils could help many of the therapy clients I was already working with – and much more so if I blended two or three together.
……and so welcome Your Medulla
So these will not be off-the-shelf products that anyone can buy, they will be made individually for you, to your own prescription. We will agree the prescription together during a consultation when I will get to know you through medical and lifestyle questions. We will talk about physical and emotional ailments that you wish to heal and discuss the best approach for you.
Sometimes this will be combined with a therapy such as reflexology or Reiki, at others it may just be aromatherapy on its own. I don’t use massage as one of my therapies but there are many other, often more effective ways of administering the beneficial properties of essential oils.
I will then select oils which match the symptoms we’ve discussed, taking into account health issues and any safety implications. This will be the point you get involved – smelling the oils individually and then combined, before I blend them into the appropriate preparation for you. Currently the preparations I use are creams, lotions, balms, massage oils, sprays, rollers, diffuser blends and nasal sticks.
I work from my knowledge, with reference to books and also intuitively to create a blend that will be effective and that you will love.
Aromatherapy is part of a healing process and so it may take some time and trialling to find exactly the right blend for you, which is why a treatment plan may be a preferable option. This way we can monitor your progress and make adjustments to your blend. A treatment plan will include preparations that you can use at home in between treatments. Please see the Treatment List for prices.
