Aromatherapy Ingredients

In this section I describe both the base ingredients and essential oils I have used in your prescribed blend.  There is not space on the bottles to write these out in full and so I have detailed these here.  If you have any allergies please discuss these with me.

Responsibly sourced

I want to use the highest quality ingredients in your blends.  I believe in using organic wherever possible and certainly all natural and plant-based with no synthetic chemical additives.  Ideally I will choose to use ingredients that are sourced with respect to our planet and the farmers who grow, harvest and produce them.

This means that some preparations might smell earthy or planty or even oily but this is because where I am using the base ingredients to make my own preparations I have chosen to use unrefined ingredients to avoid the environmental impact of the refining process.  Shea butter is one of those ingredients, however once your prescription of essential oils has been added to the blend it should hide this scent and leave you with a product you love using.

On the whole I use the Neal’s Yard Remedies create ointment or lotion as my base cream or lotion and the links will take you to their full ingredients.  I have chosen to use these as I trust the ethics of the ingredients used and of the company as a whole.

This is a work in progress and although I have spent a lot of time researching my ingredients, there is always room for improvement and new suppliers come along.  I will keep this page updated as I bring in new suppliers.

Other carrier components I might use are shea butter, beeswax, grapeseed oil, fractionated coconut oil, wheatgerm oil, jojoba oil, rosehip seed oil, avocado oil.
